Choose which apps you want to lock
Slow down and choose to use your apps intentionally
Choose blocking schedules where you don't want to use distracting apps
Take control of your screen time by blocking the apps that pull you away from what matters. Free Time helps you stay focused by requiring a mindful pause before opening distracting apps.
Break the cycle of mindless scrolling with puzzles and mindful activities. Each time you want to unlock an app, you'll engage in a brief activity that creates a moment of awareness.
Unlike aggressive app blockers that force you off apps, Free Time helps you find balance. Once you unlock an app by completing a puzzle, you can use it for your chosen duration without interruption.
Reduce compulsive phone checking with a clean, distraction-free app launcher. See only the apps you've chosen to keep accessible, making it easier to use your phone intentionally.
Set custom schedules for when apps should be automatically blocked. Create different rules for work hours, bedtime, weekends, or any time you need to focus.
Built-in focus timer helps you work in concentrated bursts. Use the Pomodoro technique to maintain deep focus while your distracting apps remain blocked.

"I LOVE Free time. Since starting to use it, it's got me using my phone so much more thoughtfully. In just 3 weeks, I've become so much more regulated with my Instagram use. Thank you Free time for giving me more Free Time!!"

"Free Time has helped me get more life back and focus on the things that really matter: reading a book that's been on my list for ages, having a long undistracted dinner and just being."
Hi! I'm Nicole Kelner. I'm a full-time artist based in Brooklyn.
I created Free Time because I was feeling hooked on social media when I needed to share my art. I wanted a way to use my phone for work without getting distracted. So I built an app to help me feel more balanced and use my phone with intention.
Free Time just launched this week, and I hope it helps you spend less time on your screen and more time doing what matters most to you.
We use psychology, mindfulness, and habit tracking to help you reduce your screen time in a gentle way.
